Notification Under RTI Act, 2005

How to File an RTI Request
Write Your Application
Address your RTI application to the Public Information Officer (PIO), MSSDS. Clearly mention the information you seek. Applications can be written in English, Hindi or any other official language.
Pay the Fee
Attach a fee of โน10 (by Indian Postal Order / Demand Draft / Cash) payable to the Administrative Officer, MSSDS. Persons Below Poverty Line (BPL) are exempted from paying the fee.

Receive Response Within 30 Days
The PIO is required to respond within 30 days of receiving your application (48 hours for matters involving life or liberty). If dissatisfied, you may appeal to the First Appellate Authority (FAA) within 30 days.
Second Appeal to State Information Commission
If not satisfied with the FAA's response, you may file a second appeal with the Meghalaya State Information Commission. See the external links below.
